What is blurred background padding?

Blurred padding duplicates your video in the background with a cinematic blur filter so that your horizontal video fits vertically on mobile screens without black bars.

Can I use center crop instead?

Yes. You can switch to Center Crop mode, which zooms in on the middle of your video to fill the full 9:16 vertical frame.
